As planned, AllegroGL 0.4.0 final is up now. There seem to be some minor problems, e.g. special texture formats don't always work in 16-bit modes (like GL_LUMINANCE), and there seems to be a problem with dumbtest, when using Allegro's create_video_bitmap with non-power-of-two dimensions on an Intel card - but then, the Allegro emulation doesn't fully work anyway.

Yes, you heard right, we've decided to do an RC5, after all RC4 is from April. So, head to the Download page, and try to compile your games with Allegro 4.2.1 and AllegroGL 0.4.0 RC5, and make sure to tell us any bugs, so we can fix them for the AllegroGL 0.4.0 release.

Over at http://alleg.sf.net, version 4.2.1 of Allegro was released today. Congratulations to all the work that went into this new release. The release of AllegroGL 0.4.0 final should follow in about a week from now, making sure it works with the new Allegro version on all platforms.

Over at alleg.sf.net, version 4.3.0 was released. This is the first version in the new WIP branch of Allegro. OpenGL will probably get integrated into it, and the role of AllegroGL in the 4.3 branch is unclear as of yet. The next exciting question now is, when will Allegro 4.2.1 be released? It is the release which was planned to get combined with the Allegrogl 0.4.0 release, and was scheduled to happen months ago.

Tomasu just announced in the mailing list that he is mirroring the SourceForge SVN repository here: http://svn.tomasu.org/index.cgi/allegrogl

The new website was just linked to the frontpage. The old one is still accessible here. In case the new one seems inferior, it's very easy to switch back. Reasons I can think of to switch back: It might be slower, there's now possibility for vandalism, and the design and the logo look somewhat "kitsch" right now - but design/logo can easily be changed

I made a very cheesy design, with stars background and lens flare Moin also comes with some standard designs (they all use the lens flare logo for now, but that can be easily changed as well). Clicking on it should show how it would look:
